For our students, this is much more than a trip. Life aboard a sailing vessel requires teamwork, communication, responsibility, problem-solving, resilience, and trust. Students learn to contribute to a crew, take on unfamiliar challenges, support one another, and experience firsthand what it means to be responsible for something larger than themselves.
These are the kinds of experiences that stay with young people long after they return to shore.
Over the past six years, 125 Met students have had the opportunity to participate in this remarkable experience with Sailing Ships Maine. We are incredibly grateful for a partnership that continues to give our students the chance to learn in a completely different environment, discover new strengths, and see just how far learning can take them.
