We believe there is no single path to success. Every student has unique interests, strengths, goals, and ways of learning. Instead of asking students to fit into one model, we build an educational experience that helps each student discover who they are and who they want to become.
Every Student is Known
At the Met, students are more than a name on a roster.
Each student is part of a small advisory led by an advisor who remains with them throughout high school. Advisors know their students personally, build strong relationships with families, and provide consistent guidance from ninth grade through graduation.
Our goal is simple: every student should have at least one adult who truly knows them and is invested in their success.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Learning doesn't stop when students leave campus—it expands.
Beginning in ninth grade, students explore careers, interests, and community through internships, workplace experiences, field studies, and partnerships with professionals across Rhode Island. These real-world experiences help students connect what they learn in school to the lives they hope to build after graduation.
Students don't just learn about careers—they experience them.
Personalized Learning
No two students learn exactly the same way.
At the Met, students work with advisors to create personalized learning plans that reflect their interests, goals, and academic growth. Learning is active, meaningful, and connected across subjects rather than divided into isolated classes.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, solve real problems, collaborate with others, and take ownership of their education.
A Community That Cares
The Met is intentionally designed as a collection of small learning communities where students feel welcomed, supported, and valued.
Strong relationships among students, families, advisors, and community partners create an environment where young people can take risks, build confidence, and grow into independent learners and compassionate citizens.

Preparing Students for Life
College is one pathway. Careers are another. Entrepreneurship, military service, apprenticeships, and community leadership are equally important.
