What is Extended Day?

Extended Day is a mandatory after-school program for 9th graders at the Met but is available to all Met students. Providers from the community offer programs to teach students in areas that vary from art, music , enrichment, academics, STEAM, and sports. Each semester, students select two programs to participate in that relate to their passion, interest or exploration.

Why have Extended Day?

At our Extended Day programs, students have access to adult mentors who will guide them to learn more about potential career paths, gain new skills, or allow then to explore their interest or passion. Results of this program have shown that students have performed consistently better in school and that they are enjoying experiences that will give them an edge to compete for entrance to college, employment and even entrepreneurship.
