Salary Range: $47,000 - $53,000 annually (salary will be prorated to reflect start date)

Position Overview:
The Student Recruitment & Admissions Specialist is assigned to work with the Met’s Co-Director, and the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions, to assist and manage details for scheduling meetings, presentations, appointments, phone calls, emails, written correspondence and follow- up in all aspects of student recruitment work as well as plan recruitment events. This role will lead the Providence and Eastbay campus yearly incoming 9th grade class and is responsible for meeting the targeted applicant and enrollment goals. The role supports a fast moving thinker who acts with enthusiasm and has a direct nature.
This position requires frequent communication on behalf of the Met and coordinating work efforts with the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions. The Student Recruitment & Admissions Specialist must be detail oriented and focused on retrieving solid student applicants, highly organized, able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, and skilled in the use of technology (Microsoft office, Google Drive, email, etc.).
The ideal candidate should also pride in having great interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills due to the responsibilities of the role. This role requires outstanding communication skills and a welcoming presence for parents, staff and community members; being relatable is a skill needed for this position because 100% of this position entails communicating with a diverse group of people.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
Visits middle schools, after school programs, and periodically weekend and evening events to speak to groups and individual students, and meets with school counselors, administrators and program directors to inform individuals about our school in both the Providence and Eastbay area
Leading and organization of student applicant data collection
Maintaining communication with the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions regarding data, recruitment materials and overall school recruitment information
Create organizational systems and tools that sustain daily work
Work together with the Student Admissions and Advisor Recruitment Support Specialist to help support in maintaining accurate information of all events in reference to data entry
Manages and coordinates community workshops and recruitment efforts and arranges visits and tours for prospective students and parents
Meet weekly with the Student Admissions and Advisor Recruitment Support Specialist and Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions to delegate task and provide update of the work being shared
Share a weekly report with the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions of the tasks and duties that will be focused on for that week (this report should be sent weekly via email every Friday for the following week)
Meet weekly with the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions to reflect on accomplished tasks and goals that were set for that week.
Act as liaison between Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions and school community in a way that makes constituents feel confident that the information will be shared and that their request will be considered when it’s received
Remain up to date on all phone calls, targeted emails and correspondence sent regarding student recruitment on a daily basis
Train new “recruitment team” students involved with school presentations and other related events
Maintain filing system for student applications and related materials received
Varied involvement and communication in support of Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions role with Principals and Co-Directors around sharing data and completing work assignments for student recruitment
Edit written work for Student Recruitment when needed
Develop materials for student recruitment use and productivity when needed
Regularly attend staff meetings
Work as a team with the Community Outreach Representative and Director of Recruitment and Admissions to establish a recruitment calendar that focuses on recruiting throughout Rhode Island
Additional duties as assigned

Daily Responsibilities/Focus:
Application Process: maintaining an ample supply of updated applications, fulfilling informational requests, keep an up-to-date database of applicants, keep/maintain files on each applicant, sending out acceptance packets and providing updates on applicants
Delegate new student information data collection to ensure accuracy of shared information with the Student Admissions and Advisor Recruitment Support Specialist
Apply the student placement process by calculating incoming student data, prepare for lottery by following up on incomplete files with families and schools, execute lottery, and create/maintain waitlist
Coordinate recruitment special events, including open houses, guidance breakfasts, school visits/presentations, and student interview nights. You will handle everything from start to completion, including coordinating mailings, staff and student recruitment team volunteers, materials needed, RSVPs, running the event, and follow through on inquiries and data entry following each event
Establish Shadow Days and Friend’s Day policies for small school enrollment
Respond to all inquiries regarding student recruitment and handle the correspondence as it applies to the recruiting process
Complete the enrollment process including submitting all the required documentation to the Central Office before a student attends the school
Tracking incoming and exiting students with Central Office
Prepare and maintain annual calendar with recruitment related information including presentations, open houses, visits, and incoming applications amongst other things
A significant amount of time should be dedicated to being out in the community: Delivering and collecting student applications, creating relationships with different organization (ex: Boys and Girls club, West End Community Center, sports teams), and constantly being in touch with School Guidance Counselors
Maintain constant communication with Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions of daily tasks, specific questions or concerns from schools, organizations and individuals
Maintain professionalism in the different roles that the Student Recruitment and Admission Specialist will be playing
Manage interns and assign tasks and carrying through the assigned duties until completion

Skills Required:
Bilingual English/ Spanish fluency required
Four year college degree, preferred
3- 5 years experience in assisting senior level staff
Strong interest and passion for education and kids, preferred
Experience working in support of youth or educational programming
Experience working with middle school to high school students placement
Experience with recruitment and student enrollment and some knowledge of RI middle schools, community-based organizations, and the state of RI
Minimum of 3 years working in a fast paced environment
Computer and Internet proficiency: Excel, Google Docs, and web applications
Excellent written/oral communication skills (writing/editing, phone follow up)
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to provide leadership and guidance to administrative support staff and/or students
Ability to function under pressure, handle multiple assignments and follow through on deadlines
Ability to research relevant information and analyze data
Remain productive, focused, and flexible in a constantly changing environment
